Autumn Scenery

With a beautiful day of sun and 67 degrees, we loaded up the cooler with a pack dinner, and headed out of town.

A quick shot of the Alaskan pipeline...this wasn't our destination, so we kept on driving.

A stop to take in the view.

The birch trees have turned to gold.

Our destination, the Chatanika River.

I found a geocache along the route today. Took several pictures of the scenery.

Jack did some fishing.

And speaking of gold.....the birch trees have turned the color, and my husband spent some time looking for some.

A classic Alaskan passtime, panning for gold. We think he may have actually found a few crumbs. Brought them home in a container.

It was a lovely, lovely day.
